Dr. Eric Selbin - Professor of Political Science at Southwestern University
Eric Selbin is Professor of Political Science and Holder of the Lucy King Brown Chair. Selbin received his PhD from the University of Minnesota in 1991, his MA from Louisiana State University in 1984, and his BA from the University of Texas at Austin in 1980. His research interests are in the areas of resistance, rebellion, and revolution, theories of revolution, and socio-political change. Selbin is the author of Revolution, Resistance, and Rebellion: The Power of Story, Modern Latin American Revolutions, and a variety of articles and book chapters primarily on matters revolutionary. In 2007 he was selected as one of Southwestern University’s All-time “Fav Five” Faculty by the SU Alumni Association and received the Exemplary Teaching Award from the Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the United Methodist Church for 2001-2002.
Dr. Shirely E. Thompson - Associate Professor, Associate Chair of American Studies at The University of Texas at Austin
Professor Thompson is Associate Professor of American Studies. She currently serves as the the Associate Director of the John L. Warfield Center for African and African American Studies. She received her Ph.D. in the History of American Civilization and her A.M. in History from Harvard University. She received her atrium baccalaureus degree in History (1992) from Harvard College. She is currently researching a book project entitled "No More Auction Block for Me: African Americans and the Problem of Property" which traces out some of the legacies of slavery for African American encounters with property and ownership. Specifically, it explores the interwoven concepts of race and property value from the vantage point of African American historical memory, political economy, and expressive culture.
Craig Foxhoven - Community Cebador Guayaki (Sustainable Rainforest Products, Inc)
Craig Foxhoven is a community cebador for Guayaki Sustainable Rainforest Products, Inc. He has has bachelors of arts in environmental studies from the University of San Diego. Mr. Foxhoven has been a cebador for Guayaki since 2015. He particular is known for drinking Mate and spreading the knowledge that the Gauchos of Argentina have shown him.
