SICMUN Online is a newly developed conference for incoming and current high school students.

Recognizing that the international community is practicing social distancing due to COVID-19  and unable to attend any Model UN conferences at the time, SICMUN online is a creative solution to allow delegates to safely attend an official Model UN conference. This conference will be online, held on the Zoom video call software on June 20-21st.

For our Online conference delegates will donate a minimum of 3 dollars or donate more money to make the fight against  COVID-19 more efficient.

This conference aims to provide relief and give back to our communities by donating  to the World Health Organization’s  COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is leading and coordinating the global effort, supporting countries to prevent, detect, and respond to the pandemic through their Solidarity Response fund.  As the world gets more and more affected by this infectious virus it becomes more and more imperative that we all put in a helping hand and fight the virus.

The hardships that the history of humankind has faced have been solved with unity. Without unity, we are unable to assist one another and grow as a community. In these times of hardships, it is imperative to be united as a force. 

At SICMUN online, we hope to provide a unifying experience towards delegates practicing social distancing in their homes. Through the rough times of COVID-19, SICMUN Online’s objective is to be able to provide an opportunity for high school delegates of all experience levels to take part in.

Hello,

I am Pranav Boopalam, and I am the Secretary-General of the first Annual SICMUN Online Conference being hosted on June 20th and 21st, 2020. The idea of organizing an online conference stemmed out of the current COVID-19 situation.  However, I feel it is an opportunity for relevant and appropriate use of technology to demonstrate we are united internationally. 

This year we have chosen to focus on the theme Unity. Currently, our team is preparing background guides and getting ready to host the conference. The team has been doing an excellent job in incorporating Unity into our conference so far. With even more excitement, I am proud to say that SICMUN online is donating most of the proceeds to an organization that is supporting countries in protecting, detecting, and responding to the pandemic.
